ROBOWARS will comprise of two challenges.
1. Sumo fight
2. Line following
In the ringed platform, robots will fight the ultimate battle. With a series of rounds, the first robot to push or flip the contesting bot out of the boundary proves to be the winner.
In line following the bot will have to follow the line, the first robot to reach the finish line will be considered winner.
Following the fashion of a tournament hierarchy, will your robot have what it takes to make it to the top? This competition not only wins the hearts of the robot designers, but it is also our biggest crowd pleaser.
The arena for sumo fight will be a circular piece of panaflex on which two robots will fight to push one another out of the ring, or knock the robot upside down. The ring will be of 90 cm in diameter.
The arena for line following would be a panaflex having a pattern of lines for the robot to follow, the bots will race following a line along a track.
Only LEGO Mindstorms kit is permitted for use in this competition. The robots may be designed as per the need of the team.
• Qualifiers: The robot to detect and knock over (or push) a stationary object or to reach the finish line first will be considered for qualifying to the next round.
• Heats (Best-of-Three) round: Teams will go head-to-head against each other in a league format, of each team playing against all the remaining teams. A win means 3 points, a draw would mean 1 point, and a loss would mean no points at all. The top 4 teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
• Semi-Final and Final: There will be a best-of-three series between opposing teams, and the winner will be decided.
